Latex is natural rubber, cut and glued (or moulded) into garments that stretch up to several times their size and snap back. How to put on latex clothing (without tearing it)

1. Prep your skin. Dust yourself, not the garment, with unscented talc, or use a silicone-based dressing aid. Never use oil-based lotions; oil degrades rubber.
2. No nails, no rings. Remove jewellery. Handle latex with flat palms and fingertips, never a pinch-and-pull grip.
3. Roll, don't yank. Gather the garment like a stocking, step or slide in, and roll it up the body in stages, smoothing air pockets as you go.
4. Adjust at the end. Once it's on, shift the seams straight with your palms. Latex moves as one piece, small corrections travel.

Getting the shine

Fresh out of the wardrobe, latex looks matte. The shine is applied: a few sprays of silicone latex polish, buffed in circles with a soft lint-free cloth, and the surface turns liquid. Caring for latex in Indian conditions

Heat and humidity aren't the problem; storage mistakes are. After wearing: rinse in lukewarm water, hang to drip-dry away from sunlight, dust lightly with talc, and store in a dark cupboard on a plastic hanger (metal can stain rubber black). Keep it away from copper, bronze and direct sun. Never machine-wash, never iron, never use oil-based products. That's the entire ritual: five minutes for years of life.
